Saving Australia's Plants and Animals from Extinction
Coordinating nationally. Acting locally. Across landscapes. Beyond fences. So no species is left behind.
We develop and implement threatened species recovery programs across entire landscapes, working on public and private land and beyond fences for all threatened species, especially the overlooked, creepy, crawly, slithery and slimy that underpin all life on earth.
From planning to boots-on-ground action, we unite land managers, First Nations people, scientists and local communities in hands-on collaborations that bring species back from the brink.
Our Mission
To coordinate and implement recovery programs for forgotten and imperilled species across Australia.
Working with partners, guided by the latest science and traditional ecological knowledge, we empower communities to act.
Our Vision
A future where Australia’s unique plants and animals thrive, and extinction is a thing of the past.
Our Purpose
We connect and strengthen recovery efforts to save Australia's plants and animals from extinction.
Coordinating nationally. Acting locally. Across landscapes. Beyond fences. So no species is left behind.
We're in the midst of an extinction crisis, but we can turn this around
The Threatened Species Conservancy is an independent not-for-profit organisation with a mission to work with communities, scientists and government to save Australia’s plants and animals from extinction.
We are ecological and threatened species experts with the experience and tenacity to tackle the challenging task ahead. Fostering connections between people and the natural world through targeted on-ground actions is at the core of what we do.
Our Work
These Things Matter to Us
We fight for every threatened species, from the overlooked to the iconic, because each plays a vital role in healthy ecosystems. We work across landscapes, on public and private land, delivering science-based recovery plans and hands-on action that brings species back from the brink
OUR APPROACH
How we undertake our work

Strategy
We design and implement recovery actions that protect and restore threatened plant and animal populations.
Engagement
We engage the community to raise awareness of threatened species through community events and initiatives as well as citizen science
Partnerships
We work closely with governments to ensure our projects align with State and Federal threatened species priorities. We build relationships with key stakeholders to maximise the effectiveness of threatened species projects
Research
We work closely with research scientists to improve threatened species recovery approaches and contribute to the greater body of science.
